Thanks for posting the brush Molly. Can't get similar results with it yet though. Just slow I guess.
Brush keeps stroking at a large size even though I made it smaller in settings and text larger.

Did you set your spacing? If not they will be too close together and you will probably just get a big blob when stroking.
Here is a little noose where the brush size is 25 and the spacing is 30

Now thatI have discovered the brushes dialog/settings, I think I am learning the ropes ...

... but sometimes things get a bit knotted up ...

... so I need more testing yet!

That one looks like a biscuit with icing! Great script Graechan - its teaching me a lot of new Gimp stuff.

Graechan - thank you ... but what have you done to me?? Finding out about brushes/settings et al I found that I could also create a brush; so I did from the coat of our Borzoi in an image where I used your terrific WISPS script.

So now I have a new 'textured brush' (who needs rope!) and I tried it out ....

WOW the fun just does not stop!!

I thought I would attach the full compliment of PhotoComics 'Animated artistic' brushes for everyone to check out, Place the entire folder in your username/brushes folder and refresh brushes.
to make it easier to find only the animated artistic brushes follow these steps
1/click here
Image
2/ now you will see your new brushes folders
Image
3/ select the animated artistic folder
Image
4/ click on the workspace to close the menu
Image
Now only your Animated Artistic brushes are visible

Thanks.
I have tried it a couple times. Brush still comes out large (actual size of the brush) but spacing is closer (naturally) In other words it's still a blob and not a stroke around the edge.

Hey Sallyanne, coming from an inexperienced user, I think its obviously an area of trial and error too. I have been having similar problems today getting blobs of colour not pleasant strokes and had to keep changing number of/distance between paths, brush type, size and this 'spacing' thing which I still do not comprehend very well.

However, after quite a while trying a number of different combinations I was able to get what I wanted (refer my post #158 in the path-inbetweener thread) and like Graechan advises my settings ended up right down the low end of the scale. Good luck anywway.
