Very interesting how this works...I did several test words, added different background just to see what it looked like, and they all look different, lol. Is there a secret to getting exactly the coloration wanted?

Wait, I found this in another place, lol. It is in script-fu logo and script fu alpha to logo. The alpha to logo is the one that ends up odd colors, the logo one always is silvery chrome.

Apparently it depends on the font as to how the script-fu-alpha-to-logo shiny chrome filter turns out.

2-ton in the updated script after using the logo you can undo (single click), then use the alpha script to to redo with different background options, it also allows you to adjust the text (because it's still a text-layer)
