I have come acroos this tutorial named (Recolor-Anything-on-Gimp on Wikihow ) that consists in recoloring an image.

I wonder what technique GIMP uses in that case and where I could find a link to the code source of that method ?

Any hint is greatly appreciated.

The coloring method in that tute is basically just using a coloring layer in "Overlay" mode.

The various layer modes or "blend" algoithms used by Gimp are fairly standard stuff which are well described here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blend_modes
