this version tries to aim for rgb variations like
if its luminance is in the bottom third it tries to get colors that have a higher blue value
if its luminance is in the middle third it tries to get colors that have a higher red value
if its luminance is in the top third it tries to get colors that have a higher green value
It's slower than version 8 because it has to randomly seek out qualifications describe above.
version 9 (tries to aim for blue, red, green variations).

Every time I log on there is an updated script :) - so Trandoductin here is one of my local south coast photos treated with 145 colours from your latest script and, of course, slightly bumped ...

Love the effect, so thanks again Trandoductin.

That latest one tries to aim toward blue red then green variations if you want random colors, use the one before that one. :D

Tin,
may I suggest you to combine into one single script your auto-colorize with an option for the user to choose among the various versions?

Tran may i suggest you upload your scripts to gimpscripts.com. Our sister site. That way you need not keep adding new version links here. You can just update the script and upload a new version to gimpscripts. Someone may get confused by all these versions. :)

it's been a while since i used this script.
I thought I'd play with it.
So this one is random colors (not rgb variations) and then oilify and then set to soft light. what do you think? like it better than original?
