This script follows this tutorial by Conbagui LURID Text Effect Tutorial You can get the default font from Dafont Comfortaa-Bold
Image
When the script has finished, if you have not selected 'Merge the Layers' you will be left with all the layers for you to adjust the LayerModes for different effects (particularly the Lurid and Lurid #1 layers)

Menu Location is Script-Fu/Logos

Issabella tutorials (especially from Conbagui) can teach you a lot about using your Gimp, Whereas I'm just the monkey who punches in the numbers :hehe

Does this script still work with Gimp 2.8? I ask because it crashed as I was running it and I had merged the layers. As the script was running, it crashed and the entire gimp program had to close. I use 2.8.10 windows 7 64 bit.

Very nice results you all. :bigthup
Mackenzieh, I think it works fine in 2.8. Anyway I will test it again. :)

Have you installed the default font the script calls for in line #460 of the script?
Quote:
SF-FONT "Font" "Comfortaa Bold"

Tested in GIMP-2.8.14 Windows 8.2 64 bit. Works fine.

No, I haven't but I will. I don't see what installing the font has to do with the script crashing when I try to merge the layers. The script should run without problem no matter what script is used and with or without the merging of layers as well as changing colors of the gradient.
