Hey there again, I wanted to ask for another script or plugin one of you could transcribe from PS. It's aviable since the new CS5 and it's called "Refine Edge":
www.youtube.com Video from : www.youtube.com

It's basically an edge detection tool, but around your selection borders. It would be a HUGE advantage for hair-cutting in my opinion, so maybe someone here has an idea of how to program it.

Good luck
Baum

Wow, that works great in the vid. The highpass method would work almost as easy on a pure background like that, too. I wonder how well refine edges would work with a normally busy background!

The poster of the video said that a busy BG works as well :/
Thats why I'd like to have it, and why I think most PSers/GIMPers would want it ;)

That would be a nice filter to add to Gimp. =)
You could get some real intricate selections with it.

I wonder if this could now be created as a GEGL filter?

<blanket type=wet>

These videos always work very well, otherwise they woudn't be on YT. If it works that well on a busy BG, why wasnt the video done with a busy BG?
