This one is just for fun...
Download script.

Have an image as background, cut out object to apply zoom animation to in a new layer on top like this

Now have the top layer (object to zoom on) selected.
Run the script (it's under Script Fu/Zoom Animate).
And it'll create 3 additional layers to work with, and it'll create a new image with 4 frames.
You'll end up with something like this.

Hi Tin, would it be possible to update this script with more animation layers?
Would be nice to see how smoother zoom animation looked, maybe double or triple amount.
I did a "fake" version with 8 frames by adding duplicates and using 50% opacity of the next layer, merged down.
Something I've done with jerky animations to get them little smoother. Thanks for your great scripts, keep up the good work.

It's always possible.
But i am looking at my old code and the math confuses me now.
Maybe if you tell me how you would do it mathematically i can script it.
Like maybe dynamically specify number of layer positions.
for example 30.
Then specify number of shown frames 3.
start 1 frame one which contain position 0, 10, 20
next frame it's 1, 11, 21
and so on...
oh man ..i am getting all confused.
