I am not sure it what I am looking for is a script or a G'MIC filter.
Can't even recall the name.
I can try to explain what it does though. Similar to montage but I don't think it is that, in fact I think it came out before montage did.
You can make the background anything you want. I use to use a photo. and then put photos/other layers on top in angle/s

Does anyone know what it is or where I can find it?

Looks to be similar. Pity there isn't a image to show what it does. Although I am sure I had it...Can't find it now.

Thanks for the pictures :) As I said similar but that is not it. The One I am looking for will do many picture/layers on a background - or not. Here is one I did manually last night

Had another look at that one garagecoder but I thought this other one was created before montage was. Couple of years ago now so I could be mistaken. Unless the same person also created montage and the other doesn't exist any more. And you would also have to do the background separately?
I have a photo I did quite a while back and if I can find it I will post it

My mistake, I've only repeated what you already mentioned
It's what happens when doing two things at once!

I'm not sure I've seen the one you're looking for, I know there were a few around but perhaps they were superseded like you say.

Sallyanne, I think that I remember a nice photo your which I liked a lot. It had as columns and the effect was very nice in its whole. However I didn't know it was a filter or script as It was when I started to walk with GIMP. Sorry I can't help.

Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a new chance to rebuild what you want.
