Goes in the expected behavior category, an "inner" ribbon 5px wide in letters that are barely 10p thick...

Among others:
- rewrite this very script, with specific attentions paid to corners (get round corners instead of the currently 'cut' ones) and maybe handle better the inside of sharp turns.
- rewrite this very script to produce a symmetrical ribbon
- Slinky with squares (but settable duty cycles and round corners)
- Slinky with triangle/sawtooth
- Slinky with arbitrary math
- Path decoration with circles and other periodic elements (could be quite hairy if I want to evenly space them)
- Wrapmap rewrite using paths, that could lead to much smoother looks

I also just discovered how to use the gradient editor (answering the COD question elsewhere) so there may be interesting thing to do there (for instance, a neon rendering using gradients and ribbons).

Should keep me busy 'til summer...

I look forward to all of those for Slinky, and the Ribbon updates.

What is wrapmap if you don't mind me asking

Start here with the latest on one way to use wrapmap:

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1119&hilit=wrapmap

The original thread I believe, was started by Lyle, but can't seem to find it:

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=553&p=5127&hilit=wrapmap#p5127

and PC mentions it here:

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=600&hilit=wrapmap

Will it run in 2.7? Has anyone tried that?

Yes it does... with a message about the use of a deprecated procedure. Will eventually fix that for 2.8, if the message persists (thing may still change).

The deprecation messages will be disabled by default when GIMP transitions to a stable (2.8) release. You can disable them in 2.7 by using the "--pdb-compat-mode on" option (the mode is always set to "warn" during development so that potential problems can be noted and addressed).

Now that you have that long sought after tool, we are all wondering what you are going to do with it:)

Could have swore i posted this earlier and i just looked and my post was gone :lol
Anyways see these two circles ofnuts?
One is your tool with a 1.0 pixel fill and one is just a selection stroked with a pattern at 1 pixel.
Your tool is much more accurate.

I can now fill a selection with a true 1 pixel fill.
Thanks ofnuts it works excellent. :)

Not to mention the many other uses it has.Like quick offsets at accurate sizes.

Yes, I clearly expect to be amazed. Maybe now you need to perform a rain dance for Rod, ofnuts. :)

Given the unexpected results of the previous one, I'll refrain :)
