because it's an "ancient" way of doing mosaic (which I like a lot), why not to try with an ancient "image"?

It seems to me that you can't just open an image and run this filter to create a mosaic?
When I run this filter on one of my images.
The results look nothing like what Issabella and the other have produced.
Maybe I'm missing something?
Can someone explain how this filter is used?

Wallace, all I have had to do so far is adjust Bright/Contrast a little bit.

Wallace: You must also have RobA;s mosaic tile helper script to help run the filter. Do you have that on your computer?

I only have one image open,
as anyone can plainly see and there's no "Dot Layer" present.
There's only one layer that I can see.

Just open an image (RGB*) and run the filter
