Wallace, you can use the attached version of the filter, which displays the outcome at each step, maybe we can better detect where the problem is.

warning: use only for testing, then reset to the original

Here's the image I was using when the error showed.

just a guess: do you have Select transparent area clicked ON in the Select by Color function?
I say that because the filter performs a selection of the transparent areas

I have to leave, now.
I will be out for about 5 to 6 hours.
Hence I will be unable to answer to questions, comments until back home.
Hope you all enjoy this filter.

Worked fine for me first try. :) Nice filter Diego!

Image

You must have
1) fill transform scm
2) mozaic tile.scm
3) G'MIC 1.6.9

I updated gimpscripts.com post to reflect this.

Ran the filter on a different image,
using the Test DIEGO_Mosaic_Lyle_Style.py file and got the same error.
Select transparent area was checked as ON.
Image
At least this time I can see the "Dot Layer".
I don't understand why it's asking me to set a source image,
when there was only one image opened in the first place?

:puzzled

Lucky you Rod.
I have both those scripts.
It's looking for a source image, which is kind of wired.

Keep in mind if you have a scripts manager you will need to load these two scm files before the script will work.

Don't use a script manager.

I closed Gimp and ran the test filter for a second time.
Using the same image as previously used and it came out fine?

:puzzled
What's up with that?

Sorry Wallace, the problem mustn't be very serious as you got a nice outcome before. I'm sure that Dinasset will help as soon as he can read your comment. :)
I did a few more tries.

I did a few more tries.

Those are all nice looking images Issabella.
I have no idea why the filter is acting up one moment then fine the next.
:tantrum

Maybe it's just a flaky filter.
:hehe

back home.
Read carefully but I have no idea.
Maybe -as a guess again- it's a problem of multi-thread? How many cores has your PC, Wallace?
Normally an Application (HW+SW) using exactly the same input either runs or stops...
(but there is maybe a line of code in the filter which says:
if Wallace == True:
    run crazy
else:
    run normally

hehehe....)

that's a joke, but the problem for Wallace is serious.
Does someone have an idea?

You so silly.

I have a 4 core CPU.
Image

I ran the "normal" filter on this image 15 times and didn't get errors.
Image

I also did this image without any issues.
