Keep in mind if you have a scripts manager you will need to load these two scm files before the script will work.

Don't use a script manager.

I closed Gimp and ran the test filter for a second time.
Using the same image as previously used and it came out fine?

What's up with that?

Sorry Wallace, the problem mustn't be very serious as you got a nice outcome before. I'm sure that Dinasset will help as soon as he can read your comment. :)
I did a few more tries.

Those are all nice looking images Issabella.
I have no idea why the filter is acting up one moment then fine the next.
:tantrum

Maybe it's just a flaky filter.
:hehe

back home.
Read carefully but I have no idea.
Maybe -as a guess again- it's a problem of multi-thread? How many cores has your PC, Wallace?
Normally an Application (HW+SW) using exactly the same input either runs or stops...
(but there is maybe a line of code in the filter which says:
if Wallace == True:
    run crazy
else:
    run normally

hehehe....)

that's a joke, but the problem for Wallace is serious.
Does someone have an idea?

You so silly.

I have a 4 core CPU.

I ran the "normal" filter on this image 15 times and didn't get errors.

I also did this image without any issues.

Wallace try resetting both the fill transform and mosaic tile helper filters from their dialog widgets. Also refresh G'MIC. I am wondering if its something to do with settings in either of Rob A's scripts.

No Dinasset.
I still haven't any real understanding of why this error was/is happening.

Good idea Rod, that's worth a shot.
I'll give it a try when/if the error shows again.
Something has to give sooner or later, or does it?
This error is always the same one,
with the filter asking for me to set the source image.
I could see this happening if I were using an image with more then a few layers,
but not when using a single JPG or PNG image.
How would I go about setting the source image when using an image with only one layer?
That's what's so odd about this error.
:?

do you want to make a mosaic out of one single layer or out of the composite image?

Nice result, Diego. Was going to post a comment earlier but had to do some errands and just got back. :)

Wallace, I made some test on an image with multiple layers.
case A) I want to make a mosaic out from the whole image:
I did the following:
A1-create a new layer from visible on the source multilayer image
A2-run Mosaic filter, got the outcome as expected
case B) I want to make a mosaic out of a single layer:
I did the following:
B1-set visible off on all the layer except the one from which I want a mosaic
B2-set active the layer source
B3-run Mosaic filter, got the outcome as expected

Wallace, for case B another possibility is:
-edit/copy the layer source
-edit/paste as new image
run the filter having the new image active

I've only tried running the filter on images that were flattened,
ie. no alpha channel with a single layer.

At one point I received that error and experimented by duplicated the image,
that seemed to work,
but only once thus far.
Then again...
I opened another single layer image and received the error,
duplicated the layer and still received the same error.

It's hit or miss.
I'm never sure if when I run the filter what's going to happen.
It looks as though I'm the only one having this issue.
This leads me to think that it might have something to do with my setup/PC.

I opened a thread exactly to double-check what you are saying: is a single case or not?
unfortunately it seems that the majority of the chatters here around is very ... lazy, and this is strange because we do not ask to do some complex thing: just download/install/try that filter, then everything can be removed from the PC if of no interest at all. So far only Steven (thanks) gave his contribution.
