It's in post 1. The old wood font. I may have an older version though. The one in the original post. Not sure if it has been changed or updated by Wallace.
Sorry I am on my phone. Heading to work.
I am using version 9 of your script.

I just ran it with old wood slashed font and it ran fine. version 9.

What was the text string you were trying to create maybe that had something to do with it?

Wallace this font is awesome.
But like I said he may have the one in the first post updated. You see I read the entire thread and I did download the first post file but then it seemed like Wallace updated it. So I downloaded it again. Can you PM me the link to the one you are using? Thanks! This thread really needs to be cleaned up in my honest opinion. It is a little confusing if you read the entire thing. I am using your 9th version of the script I hope that is the correct one?

I'm happy you like the font.
However,
I can't say for sure if the the font was updated.

I haven't done any work with this in quite a while.

I downloaded the first post xcf file and ran it again with script version 9.
I ran the script with defaults and it still gives me the same error.

I even downloaded both the xcf and the version 9 from the first post.
Same error. :(

I assume it has to do with this line? But it works for you so i must be running the script incorrectly somehow?

(set! charList (map (lambda (x) (make-string 1 x)) (string->list text))) ;create the list of letters

So all a user needs to do is open the xcf in GIMP then run the filter? No special selections or what not?

that's right no selections...
it just reads of the .xcf that you're on and uses that as font data

Strange. I am using both files defaults. Still get the error. Maybe I should remove all the other scheme files and try again?

The script is so close, if it could firstly open an .xcf (of font images) from a files folder then run then delete the .xcf majic would seem to have happened :wizwand

do you want to make that magic happen Graechan?

Okay I got it load xcf and generate the font...but is there a method for cleaning from memory since
now it's just there in memory I don't see it but i expect there to be a procedure to get rid of it in memory but don't know what to search for.

no need to display the image so just use gimp-image-delete

how do you know it's still in memory after the script has finished, could i see your modified script, just send in a PM

I don't know for sure but I'll use delete like you say just to be on safe side don't want to hog memory after multiple runs or something.

This is version 10.
It asks for .xcf font file as an additional parameter instead of having to have the .xcf opened.

Trandoductin nothing dirty or left behind there, delete script (where it's posted) and you have a release 10 candigate for the initial post, at the end when the layers are merged rename background layer to "custom font" anything but "G.png"
:bigthup
