Hi Mr. Trandoductin

Today I tried to use the Custom Font Version 4 but I get error message:

In the case Custom Cut Font script, I am unable to learn the use of it. Please shed some light on its use.

Hello Mr Trandoductin
I installed version 16. Then referred to the .xcf file in my Pictures Directory. Entered words in the text box. Script happened to do something but returned the error in the error console. What about other settings. Is there some example?
Builidng of my own xcf files is the next step if I go through this initial stage.

For example 3D Wood Font by Issabella. Every thing default on the dialogue.
"Make String: Argument 2 must be: character" by the way what is this problem.

You are using the wrong script. Some of the letters / characters or symbols you are using in your work, are not available in the XCF font file. Are you sure you have not removed all the custom_font.scm files except the version that is latest?
For example if you are using GIMP CHAT! as the work and the xcf font file has NO ! in the file (!.png) you will get an error or warning depending on the version you are using. IF you are using version 16 then you should only get a warning and the script should still run. You just won't get the characters you have in the work you are creating.

I downloaded the latest version of custom_font.scm and am using the blue metalic font file and I get the following error. I am running Gimp version 2.8.18 on a Windoze 7-64 bit.

Good to see you again Photomaster
If you are using the latest version 16 you should be fine. That version allows you to run the filter with any character even if it's not included in the xcf font file. The error isn't an error it's just a warning.

I don't see anything saying a version number. What I'm getting is an error message and nothing more happens after the error.

Photomaster pm Tran and have him show you where to download the latest version. The latest version allows you to use any text character even if it's not included in the xcf font file. The character just won't show up in the finished new image. But you will get a warning. I'm pretty sure that the latest version is 16.

I was hoping that if i stay quiet the "problem" would go away.
version 16 is the latest version
And no one else has a problem with it. So I don't know why you're getting that error.
Try removing all custom_font.scm scripts and retry version 16.
I don't know what else to suggest.

I removed all prior versions that I know of, but I will do a hard drive search.
