One just for fun!
Mottled pattern, perhaps too light.

I don't think it is too light. I like it.

Did you try a new pattern on the treehouse Pat?
Dianasset, nice reminder to experiment with the post options.
I took OMG's 'glass block' removed the outer edges, desaturated, expanded it to 4000x4000 used color select to select and delete some areas, set opacity to 60% then saved as pattern: huge. Then flipped it horizontal and made huge2.pat So with only these 2 patterns and the subject (no RGB552 or anything else). No gradients were used.

A couple for fun!
Both with only desaturated "huge" pattern.

Dinasset: You have nice colors but I never cared for the Anguish post color as I could never get a good image from it. Too hard to make out what the original picture was.

Animicule: Did not use a new pattern but took your suggestion on just using an "a" or "e". I did give a lot of new choices! I haven't had time but plan on making some transparent ones.
Your patterns are unique! You are very innovative with how to make textures.

Pat, I was going to post the 'huge' pattern today, however just one of the 2 is 7.7meg (compressed) so can't - (forgot about the size limit).
I will size one down and try again tomorrow! I did more tests last night to make sure that
no other patterns or color sets were interfering.

Dinasset, very nice result! How many SVG's did you make?

I updated gmic to the current stable, and it does not have most of the artistic postprocess and
just a couple of the colour post processes. I will be looking for a way to download only the missing filters to usb drive and transport to my home computer, but for now have put the older version back

animicule, could you post a note to Ronounours on the thread G'MIC 1.7.7 ?
He said that it was backward compatible.
Tell him which filters do not work the same (or not at all)

I will make a list tonight so that it can be reported.
It looks like they are missing from 1.76 version,
couldn't find them in the menu as they were in 1.73.
Thank you!

I just downloaded 1.7.7 (windows version 64bit both the installer and the .zip)
and will try that tonight. The filters are all in his text file list.
(remember, I have no internet at home, so a filter that
wasn't installed from the zip file would not be automatically
downloaded) 1.7.6 was loaded from the zip file yesterday.

OK, finished also the tests on Colours PP: no errors again.
Animicule, I guess you should check your G'MIC and reinstall it.

This is Gimp Scripts and Plugins section not Gimp Art.
This thread could be split up.

Is it a joke, to say we are producing ART ?
Thanks a lot, but we are just playing with the filter....

Nice examples of what the filter can do. :)

Discussion about the script should be in this thread, endless examples should not. :)

so, it was serious, sorry
I will no more post examples in here
But in this case IMHO there is a need of a new Topic, like "Examples of Filters Usage", because considering it ART is a bit ambitious....

Edit: my fault, I see that everybody else uses Gimp Art, so that's OK
If you like, you can split the posts

Odinbc, will you be splitting this thread up, or do we need
to start a new one?

I will no longer post examples here either as you wish,
but would like to know what will happen.

Thank you!

Nice images, Animicule & Dinasset.
Hope this issue is settled because I do not want to stop playing with this filter!
Dinasset: This was your filter. Do you want to open a thread in Gimp Art? We will follow you there.
