The PSPI plug-in needs to be installed and configured to use Photoshop plugins in Gimp.

You've done it now Wallace, I'm going to be getting my little Vaio with Windows (God knows what version), installing Gimp and all these plugins I can't get to work on a Mac. Can't wait to see my family's face when I'm sitting with two machines at the same time

Thank you for the link! :tyspin

Beautiful work guys, thank you. Dalia, it's up to you, I've tried W8 and W10 - I'm back to W7, no hassle.
By the way what does configure mean? (I'll understand if it's beyond me at this stage, I'm back at school in September, the oldest guy in class!)

You need to setup a folder to put the Photoshop plug-ins into.
This folder is where PSPI will look for the plug-ins.

***

First create a folder to place the photoshop plug-ins into.
I created a folder inside my Gimp User Directory and named it Photoshop Plug-In.
You can create this folder wherever you like and name it as you see fit.

***

Place the PSPI plug-in into you Gimp User Plug-ins folder.
My User Plug-ins folder is located at: C:\Users\Wallace\.gimp-2.8\plug-ins

***

Once the PSPI plug-in has been installed.
Open it to setup the PSPI search path.
Image

The dialog you see below will appear.

Okay before I go pulling out my Vaio, I thought I'd run the G'MIC > Artistic > Rodilius. dinasset, I hope you don't mind that I used your beautiful image to run it but I wanted to see how different the result would be. While I love the results achieved with the Fractalius, Rodilius does a pretty good job as well so for Mac users it is an option.

Wallace, my apologies as well for using your image just to try out GMIC > Rodilius. I think it's pretty close to Fractalius. The Vaio will stay tucked away for a while yet ;)

Wallace the Fractalius Photoshop Plug-in has always ran very smoothly and offers more options than GMIC

Totally agree with you Graechan that the Photoshop Plug-in's results are superior to our Gimp's GMIC - for us Mac users though it allows us to participate. Your result with Fractalius is beautiful!
