nice ones, animicule !

using a source image from pixabay, applied strong pointillism but played with top layers afterwards

(I do my tries mainly with people because they are the most difficult to produce outcomes "acceptable" to persons others than me -for my very particular taste they are "nice" even without subsequent manipulations...)

a suggestion for those who like to experiment the "strong effect" with people:
- use "color" as "paint layer mode", outcomes look much better

I post here the different outcomes using the same pixabay source image and changing only the "paint layer mode":

not exactly what I did (I didn't save the curve) but very close
go to Colors / curve
click and move two points in the left area to stretch the darkest values
play at your taste
