Hi guys,
I am in the process of looking into a "Pre-" Obama Posterize step, that would allow you to control the multiple threshold to get a good feel of the out come before applying this script ...after which point you can apply the G'Mic to threshold the colors, then this filter would be applied afterwards.
So far not having any luck though. :(

Tran: Sounds too complicated to me, but then I am not a script coder.

Dalia: That is very cute. I really like it.

RJKD.... just thought KD at the end is Kraft Dinner? the food. or maybe it stands for Kid..RJKiD...

Here's an example of manual threshold that i did compared to default. I like the manual threshold more as i can define facial features with black. The auto/default one is just too unpredictatable

with manual threshold.

I lucked out with this one's default and got facial features pretty nice with black.
So I did an extra step (of the Original Obama Hope's poster) that makes background half red and half gray (color 2 and color 3)
I don't think i can automate this step though because it requires manual selection of background away from the head.

Thanks Tran for all your hard work. You sound like a brilliant genius and I don't speak the same language. I'm sure that I will like whatever you do with the script. I just had to do another one.

looks like you lucked out too and have facial features with darker colors. or maybe you have a really good feel of contrasting work.

Your right about frame, it seemed to fit the image style.
G'MIC Frame [normal], and a vignette (only visible in the upper left).

I've seen several attempts at automating this (including G'MIC; preset still in G'MIC). Your effort's the best I've seen yet, Tran; impressive. Thanks for sharing. :)

I got this multiple threshold working in G'Mic to allow user to set multiple thresholds live preview... I got the thresholds and colors working ..trying to figure out how to merge all those results into the preview.. Gmic is like hacking. :hehe

Hey Tran; any chance you can make a check option for the text (so you can opt out if you want to)? Just a request. :)

This version allows you to toggle Create Text and Create Border.

Also now you can run a G'MIC plugin before this posterize script to control the thresholds manually
Read about it here.

lylejk - you should the manual threshold in G'Mic plugin i wrote, i think you can manually make a better poster version of yourself where facial features can be pushed to be black and others can fill in what's mostly bar-ed or bright right now.
I am pretty happy with my manual threshold script.. i just want people to use it, darn it :hehe
