Hi,

I am in need of a plugin for adding custom guides interactively with the ability to determine spacing, orientation and number of guides while updating in real-time.

Regards.

Joseph, take a peek at a number of posts on this very subject, although I doubt you'll get real time updating since you have to actually employ the plugin, make the adjustments, and then activate the code for the result.

Here's a start: you can also employ the search option for more posts on the same subject.

Currently, is there a way to add say to add multiple evenly spaced guides for example (10 sections, 11 guides)?
I don't know of one.
If not, should i add such a script?

First have a look at the article mahvin mentioned, Advanced ways to create guides in GIMP
GAT Tools (handling multiple guides) is a good one.

Nice, I checked it out but i don't think they have something just whipped up quickly.
Add multiple guides in range
where you specify start percentage, end percentage and enter number sections.

There is also this one: http://registry.gimp.org/node/87 which is the original in German. Easy to translate but has been done for you
see: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=13633&p=184897&hilit=add+multiple+guides#p184897

Could be useful in that the divisions need not be regular.

Unfortunately, does not save the layout. (gattools does) and the remove button is there to fool you, only removes the last entry from the dialog.

I do have a script to add guides presets in your menus, so adding your favorite guides is just a keystroke away. See ofn-preset-guides.

There is also
1) Add guides at x percent
2) Add guides at 10%
3) Add guides at x pixels horizontally
4) Add guides at x pixels vertically
And i am sure many more :lol

These are only samples.... the whole point of the script is to allow you to make you own presets.

Thanx.

I know ofnuts. My point was that there are many, many guide filters to select from.
