Thanks, Rod, and you Tin, for making the script. I was just trying to show how gradients and palettes can be used for camo colors on another thread and we got a script out of the deal, WIN-WIN!

not just a script, but also a splash screen to remind me that i have this Mahvin Camouflage available for use so even if i got bad memory it'll still randomly pop in to my head on one random day.

Are you all aware that Gimp has it's own camouflage pattern maker?

I wasn't aware of it. Until it was mentioned in a camouflage question thread, but i still wrote this script because i like this method more

A pretty cool way to generate a camouflage is to start with a seed image, put it around the center of you target, then use the resyntheziser plugin "Heal transparency" (option "outwards from center") to fill the canvas:



If necessary for a sightly more "accurate" result you can spread randomly several copies of the seed across the canvas.

love to add this to script if possible but I am afraid ofnuts' description has fallen on dumb ears...
I need like detailed step by step that i can manual do myself before i can automate.

I won't be home for several hours, but between Ofnut's method and Rob A's resynth script it's basically using resynthesizer to complete the pattern by selecting a centered seed image.

Ah i see the plugin now.
ofnuts is saying to place several copies of it over the target, well i'll leave this step to user's liking.
won't script it.
script will just give you Mahvin Camouflage, then user the merged result and can heal with transparency themselves.

I agree that people can decide for themselves afterwards.
