Hello,
First of all sorry for my poor english
I come to you with many questions.
I work for an archeology professor who charged me a job when he learned that I knew used a little illustration software.
He provides several thousands (!) Of pictures of archaeological pieces placed next to a ruler. The photos are in TIF format.
My task: to each photos, producing two images:
the first: TIF, crop to contain only the room, or 1cm in real life is the éhelle of TIF
the second: the same as the first but with JPEG and a small scale 1cm graduation
So the steps are:
1. Open Photos
2. measure the number of pixels that represents 1cm
3. redefine the image scale
4. crop the Image
5. export to TIF
6. add the scale bar
7. export to JPEG
Is it true that there is no equivalent on GIMP to the Photoshop's script function, where the steps are recorded?
I think the creation of a script-fu that automate all the steps except 2 and 4 of cm should be achievable within hours by a pro or someone accustomed. There he has a place where I could hire such a person? Or alternatively, how long would it take me to learn to write such a script?
For 6. I have found on the net a script that allows me to create a scaling rule, the problem is that the dimension to enter are in pixels, are there a simple way to transform the unit in cm?
(sorry for now I'm not allowed to put links)
