Basically, I have about 300 .xcf files alone in a folder and I need a script to export them all to a picture format. It doesn't necessarily have to be PNG, it could be JPEG as well.

You need a batch processing plugin & this somewhat depends on your OS.

For Windows and if you can compile linux there is BIMP

Then non-gimp XnView Convert might be worth a try.

Thanks, I ended up finding something else to fix my problem though. I put the files onto a Linux computer instead of Windows like I'm on currently, and downloaded xfctools with:
sudo apt-get install xfctools
then i put all the files in the same folder, then went to the folder and typed this:
for file in *.xcf; do xcf2png "$file" > "$file.png" ; done
for 300 files, depending on your processor and the complexity of the files, it can take between 10 seconds and several minutes

Imagemagick is available on both Linux and Windows...
