Give away of the day is giving away a macro recorder and i am wondering if this would work with the Gimp application. The program records anything inside a Windows application so i am not sure if it will record Gimp actions.
I will try though.

Worked great as long as it didn't have to click a dialog. They need to be exactly in the same place or the program misses the button :lol - Notice how the macro misses the new layer create button (ok) that causes the bg layer to get the circle select instead of the new layer.
I bet if the playback was all command terminal it would work great.
Oh well - works great for most menu uses though. It did however miss the blur command button in menus and misstook the opened layer dialog for blur and clicked ok on it.

If the dialogs and window stayed exactly the same each run the macro recorder would work excellent for recording Gimp actions.

I believe this is based on a much earler macro recorder effort for Windows that I saw over a decade ago. It was pretty cool, but not that I'm no longer in the workforce that needs such a device, I've not played with any macros for a long long time. I do have PS, but havent' really played with actions either (which is pretty much a macro). It would be cool if they had designed GIMP using a macro model as opposed to a programming model, but I wasn't there when they created Script-fu and don't think there will ever be a macro option in GIMP. Oh well. :)

No it is not a screen recorder. It is a Actions creator (micro recorder)
The movie you were watching was actually my mouse moving without my help to create an image in real time in Gimp. :)
It was just a little off :lol
