You must pick your G'Mic version
Flamboyance will run on 1.7.6 to 2.0.0 with version 5a.
you will need version 5aqt for pre-2.0.0 QT G'mic dated 3/23/17 or the 3/30/17 update

Here I have two of my butterfly. The first with the flamboyance filter and the second with the flamboyance filter followed up with G'Mic Brushify.

Thanks for the update Brian. Not at the point where I can hose 1.7.x version of G'MIC yet since there are a few other scripts from other folk that posted them here that have not updated their own, but you're making it easier for me to do so. :)
