And for those who find that the auto color match isn't good enough.
It is possible that some colors might mathematically be closer to a color but visually are not the best match.
There is a manual method where you get to manually match each color to a DMC color.
More details here -->
https://gimplearn.net/viewtopic.php?t=520(involves 2 scripts and a Codeskulptor program for the manual matching color process).
I streamed a video (now saved to youtube) showing how i would do the manual process of using both scripts and the Codeskulptor program in the middle after running the first script.
Please share with your cross-stitching friends.
Cheers.

I used to do a little of it, but my eyes aren't what they used to be, and I never have time for such hobbies because I have a computer with Gimp, lol.

I had someone on twitch.com asking if i could print the generated CS pattern (a large image).
And since i don't have a printer or anything to test.
I wrote you could export it as a .pdf file. Then open it up in Acrobat Reader (not version 9, which i have and is free) and print as a tiled poster.
So any of you know of free alternatives to printing a large image as tiled poster as multiple regular pages so you could piece/tape them together?
Edit: I just found out Acrobat Reader XI (11) is free and can print tiled poster.

That is a really good idea Tran. We had something like this in gimp or G'mic once without the numbers. Was called a mosaic. I know there are still mosaics but not like this one. I ran it on a photo of mine and put it up as my cover photo on Facebook and had people asking me if I'd done it. (Which of course I hadn't)
