They were only 4,000+ x 3,000+ size. Might be my system. 1000 x 1000 or under works best.

Thank you for this filter Brian. Your ideas are brillant. With such a strong effect, I have to tell a story in an image. Hope you can ear it.
Nice birds Issabella and i like the jaguar of Sallyanne too :clap

I am glad to see everyone getting nice results without errors!
Sallyanne, I will try some larger size images and let you know the results.
Thank you all for your comments!
Fran6, that is the outcome you posted in Skeletik with a
butterfly, caterpillar, some leaves and an unknown yellow object added!

Do you have the line number for the error?
It is found when selecting the 'more information'
The layer ID's relate to Gimp but not the script.
You are using 1.7.9 Gmic and
have an extracted subject?
Could you please post a screen shot of
the selections on the dialog?
Thank you,
Brian

Yes Brian it's a story about butterfly's life. The yellow object is a cocoon. Insects eat the nice tree and become beautifull. Your filter "eat" the tree and then the image become a different story. Life needs some destruction in order to generate living beauty. :tyspin again

I used the default settings on a 1200x1200 RGB image with an alpha channel.
Screenshots included.

I retried it on the same image reduced to 500x500.
The errors were the same except Layer ID was 711 on the smaller image vs 545 on the larger one.

Was your subject all black ?
if so, this is the problem.
Script will not run correctly on black only
subject (even with the needed transparent
areas). Set the subject color to Gray and it will
work. If that is not the case, I will probably
need a copy of the subject image to reproduce
this one.
FYI - the layer ID's are session
releated, though not directly
related to python,
AFAIK you can get image and layer id's in python
but no python_fu commands will operate on ids,
need the object names. Maybe scheme can.
If I am wrong, Please let me know!
Brian

This is the full size image that I had worked with. The smaller one is this same image just resized to 500x500.

Thanks

Thank you!
Had you added an alpha channel and removed some of
the subject image to create some 'clear' sections
for the script to work in?
For instance on this one,
I would make sure it has an alpha channel (right click layer area,
choose 'add alpha channel'.
Then use the eraser tool and quickly erase the drop shadows so
the checkerboard gimp area shows through.

I will research it after work and let you know tomorrow!
Thank you for your help,
Brian

I cut out a couple of pixels from the edge and it ran!
