From time to time I prepare some small ancillary filters, which are too simple to be worth an official release under "GIMP Scripts & Plug-ins".
Hence I decided to create here a common thread where to post them.
Today I prepared:

What does it?
It finds the average hue of the source image, creates a duplicate layer, colorizes it using that hue.
Here it is:
OverlayHUE

Today I prepared another small ancillary filter:
MaxPixelColour
What does it?
It finds the max "colour" value of each pixel in the source image, and places them in a duplicate layer, set to OVERLAY (default at 50.0).
To limit (not avoid) the distinction of the pixel values by a difference of just +1 or -1, it reduces preliminarly the values to the corresponding 1/16 of the original value.
Then classifies the pixel into one of 7 classes: Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Cyan, Magenta, White depending on the max values found in R, G, B and replaces the source pixel with the max value(s), in the duplicated layer.
Finally applies a large blur to limit local pixellation.

I deliberately choose the same images so that you can see the different effect by using this one or the OverlayHUE.

Thanks Rod for your appreciation.
They are small and simple but could be useful with certain images or to obtain specific "intensity" of colours.

Another small ancillary filter:
EvidenceOfSelectedArea
What's its purpose?
To put in evidence the area selected by the user (a selection is needed) by:
- lightening it, if the area is dark
- darkening it, if the area is light
plus an optional contour.

You have been keeping busy! Nice filters.
Sorry I won't be downloading them just yet. My pc is not up to it and a lot of the scripts/filters I already have (glut) are not working due to my pc misbehaving. Nothing against your filters. I just need a new one.

Thanks for your comment, Sallyanne.
Hope you can get soon your new PC, not to feel like having your hands tied.
I say it for yourself, your daily activity on line, not for being able to install my filters...ehehe.

Thanks a lot, Pat.
A simple toy for a simple effect, I'm using sometimes.

Thanks to you too, racer-x (a bike, what else? ehehe...)

Never tought about text, nice finding! Thanks racer-X.
And thanks PM and 2-ton for the positive comments: these filters are little "toys" to use from time to time.
