Interesting effect dinasset.

:bigthup

Perhaps this effect can be done on the main subject,
with the pattern going in one direction and on the background,
with the pattern going in a different direction from the main subject?

Diego - a brilliant 'plethora of postings' from this script; love them all and have just downloaded the script. How do you keep up the hectic pace?

Thanks, Wallace.
Interesting suggestion.
In this simple filter I only overlay the wood pattern chosen on the whole image.
The filter doesn't "know" the main subject, but detects the colour areas.
What could be possible done is:
a) use different wood patterns for each different area
b) use the same pattern on each different area but rotating the pattern.
I have to think about it, but in any case this will "promote" the filter from "small-ancillary" to a standard full function one.

I believe your option b would work well.

This one is a special edition of my previous ChildishEngrave, developed following a suggestion from Wallace.
Instead of calling it Engrave2, I preferred to call it Intarsio, which IMO is the most appropriate name for such an outcome.

ChildishIntarsio

It "rotates" the wood pattern at each change of the colour area by 90°.

Here it is:

Thanks again Wallace for your suggestion

Just an example (used defaults, 9 areas, single wood pattern)

Same source, same number of coour areas, but using different random wood patterns
