I'm starting as new thread, where I will put, one at a time, the filters I created for gimp 2.8 modified to work on gimp 2.9.9 (my environment is samj environment).
Comments from those who can test them are very welcomed !

edit: the title will be updated at each change in the number of versions for 2.9.9 released

For this afternoon, I took my filter DIEGO_WIREMAP_WireframeMapSE2 and modified into version DIEGO_WIREMAP_WireframeMapSE299.
Beware: option "clean net" has been removed because the service routine which was managing that option was operating on tiles which seem to be not properly working on 2.9.9.
Outcomes are slightly different from those obtained on gimp 2.8, I hope they are still agreeable.
Here the zip file.
see post # 35
Thanks in advance for comments after tests.

Thank You for the new version plugin for Gimp 2.9 but I am getting this message:

I get warnings that mesh size is too small-set to 5 even after I have done that, but I see no problem with the image. Everything seems to work well.

I get error messages but those are concerning the eval version of GIMP and not from your program.

I love the effect from your script on the images. I always keep the layers so I can play with them and tweak the images if I want. This is a good as the original, if not better. Thank you, Dinasset.

Always up for a test ;)

@MareroQ there should not be any deprecated procedure messages also they are just information. Might be the 32 bit Gimp 2.9.x version you use.
Try opening Gimp with the switch --pdb-compat-mode=on. After the quotes in the Windows launcher
Add it to the launcher something like example here: https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Plug- ... 62#pid2662

Otherwise in (k)ubuntu 16.04 Gimp 2.9.9 Almost there: original size 512 pix ends up 600 pix

Thanks to everyone for the tests and comments.
A special thank to Pat for all her nice outcomes.
About the info messages, the filter applies some auto-adjustment to get the best possible results.

@Hi Rich2005
For the Samj portable version this does not work because the start is from the launcher (gimp_'Language ".exe) and with the parameters specified in the file Parameters_Gimp_Lang.ini (GIMP_Preferences_Folder = Preferences) and start from bin/gimp-2.9. exe --pdb-compat-mode=on he will send to c: \ Users \ ..... \ AppData \ Roaming \ GIMP \ 2.9 (... and I do not want to use drive C at startup with a pendrive).

@Hi Diego

Now no message but error.
The number of parameters has changed from 7 (pdb.gimp_levels) to 9 (pdb.gimp_drawable_levels) and their range (from 0-255 to 0-1).

For Python MSC also other messages (... so it's probably better to use numbers):

BACKGROUND_FILL --> FILL_BACKGROUND or 1
FOREGROUND_FILL --> FILL_FOREGROUND or 0
PATTERN_FILL --> FILL_PATTERN or 4
WHITE_FILL --> FILL_WHITE or 2

Visible.mode = 0 # 2.9.9 LAYER-MODE-NORMAL-LEGACY (0)
EdgesLayer.mode = 0 # 2.9.9 LAYER-MODE-NORMAL-LEGACY (0)
GridLayer.mode = 0 # 2.9.9 LAYER-MODE-NORMAL-LEGACY (0)
Visible2.mode = 16 # 2.9.9 LAYER-MODE-DODGE (16)
Visible2.mode = 43 # 2.9.9 LAYER-MODE-BURN (43)

@ MareroQ

Hi, you says
"@Hi Diego
Now no message but error.
The number of parameters has changed from 7 (pdb.gimp_levels) to 9 (pdb.gimp_drawable_levels) and their range (from 0-255 to 0-1)."

I've changed the values (0 to 1), but the parameters are still 7 in my system, look:

and: the filter runs correctly on my PC

Which error do you get on that instruction?

Sorry, I see you get "wrong number of parameters", but that's not understandable, could you show what you see when looking at the pdb description for that statement? (the equivalent of my snapshot)

About the modes, I deliberately wanted to use the new ones, not the "_LEGACY", what's wrong?

I attach here an amended version for your tests.
see post # 35

I changed also the fill modes into the new style, as you noticed.
About the "levels" statement, suspecting the error could be in the type of the new parameterts (0-1), I replaced the integers 0 and 1 with the floats 0.0 and 1.0, maybe now it runs also in your system.
If, viceversa, you have on your pdb showing the 7 parameters, could you post the snapshot equivalent to that I posted from ny system?

It is very strange that the number of parameters changes depending on: 32bit or 64 bit. :geek
In my Vista 32bit system (the newest version of Sam from 2018-01-05 "Version de développement Gimp 2.9.9 Portable 32 bits and 64 bits Windows" http://samjcreations.blogspot.it/2018/01/version-de-developpement -gimp-299_5.html) after unpacking (without any changes or additions) there are 9 parameters:

Hence, you will never be able to test my versions 2.9.9?
That's a pity !

Well, I will install the 2018 version and see what I can do.

Edit: downloaded: 2018 version has 7 parameters also in 64bits, I'll see what to do

Funny !
Launched the new (2018) samj version of 2.9.9 (the one which shows in the PDB that the "drawable_levels" statement has 7 parameters) and tried to run my filter without modifying my 2 statements -i.e. still with 5 parameters- and...it works !

...and no errors on the console!

Solved the previous (fake) mystery: those statements are called only in case of a source image either too bright ot too dark.
Retried using a dark image and I got the error you get.

Here the version with 7 parameters (needed using the 2018 version) for your tests.

Thank You very much - now it works without a problem (in 32bit).
I confirm - the photo from the phone was dark and blurred :oops:
