Hello everybody,

Looking into for example the BevelReflectLogo script I see many underscore prefixed items in the registration part:
SF-TEXT       _"Text"                      "Bevel\nReflect\nLogo"
SF-FONT       _"Font"                      "Arial Bold"
SF-ADJUSTMENT _"Font size (pixels)"        '(250 2 1000 1 10 0 0)
SF-ADJUSTMENT _"Letter Spacing"            '(-8 -50 50 1 5 0 0)
SF-ADJUSTMENT _"Line Spacing"              '(-75 -300 300 1 10 0 0)

I've learnt that these are for translation ... and I can see in my German installation that "Text" and "Font" are translated. Where are these translations? How can I add the untranslated strings?

There's a sample script here, too:
https://www.gimp.org/docs/scheme_plugin ... ample.html

I wonder why they underscore prefix items to make them translatable without explaining how to make use of that feature.

I'm guessing a bit because I don't have any translations installed, BUT you should find a/some .po (or maybe .pot) files in your installation that define the translations.

However, these are part of GIMP, and are controlled the same way as all the rest of the code, so if you were to make local changes, they would be over-written next time you updated GIMP.

I don't know how it works for separate scripts/plug-ins, but you may be able to contribute to the translations in general. See the GIMP developers page for a start: https://www.gimp.org/develop/

Try asking the question on the developers mailing list.

Asked on IRC Dev Channel. The devs don't know either :-(
So, I'll have to mess around in the scripts themselves, what I wanted to avoid.
