Liquid rescale - one of the first 'extras' installed in my linux flatpak.

The windows version is 32 bit and comes as an installer. Hate those installers. This one in particular does not want to install if Gimp 2.8 is not there.

Possible solutions,
Steal the files from a previous installation.
Use a utility such as uniextractor to unpack the installer.

You do need a Windows Gimp 2.10 that supports 32 bit and the latest (fixed) Gimp package gimp-2.10.0-setup-2.exe works.

As well as the lqr files, a 32 bit intl.dll is needed. I took one from a 32 bit gimp 2.8 installation.

All-in-all, these files go in your Gimp 2.10 profile C:\Users\your-name\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins
gimp-lqr-plugin.exe liblqr-1-0.dll plug_in_lqr_iter.exe intl.dll and if needed batch-gimp-lqr.scm goes in scripts.

Could someone enlighten me on the purpose of this filter? I tried an upscale on an image and the quality was bad. I have no idea on the usefulness of this filter. What's the attraction?

* Edit. Never mind, I just watched a video on it. I doubt that I will ever have a need for this, I don't like stretched pixels.

Rich, will this work in a 64 bit 2.10 version? Also, will it work in Samj's 2.10 portable (Windows 10)?

Currently samj's 64-bit version doesn't support 32-bit (at least the one I downloaded a week ago). I tried to copy the 32 bit pertinent files in samj's 32-bit version of samj's portable, but that didn't quite work. I'm hoping samj includes 32-bit support in future builds (as far as 64 bit GIMP is concerned that is). :)

I have a 64bit LiquidRescale plugin.
I don't know, when it was done, and I don't know the version.

I think problem is solved with Onkel Hatti 64 bit liquid rescale. Put the two files in your Gimp profile plug-ins folder. Thats it.

The original 32 bit files + intl.dll work with the 32 bit samj portable Gimp 2.10 Put those in the ..\Preferences\plug-ins folder.

Just a note on that latest Gimp installer that was released (escaped) a couple of days ago. gimp-2.10.0-setup-2.exe

It installs in a 64 bit windows and provides 32 bit support for plugins. It also installs in a 32 bit Windows, a 32 bit version of Gimp 2.10.0 Seems to be partially broken. For example does not export jpegs. If using 32 bit Windows stick with the samj version for now.

Gimp 2.10.2 should be out soon, maybe a week or two.

edit: Just seen this

Been using gimp since version 2.2 - learnt never to hold my breath ;)

I have the regular version of Gimp 2.10.10 Windows 64 Bit. I have downloaded the file and I'm not sure where to put it.

.....and before you say it does not work, it does, Find the entry bottom of the layers menu.

...but do not expect miracles from LQ, it does throw away pixels same as cropping an image, just not in a regular pattern.
