I thought this was a fun thing to have.

Create any card in the deck for your image.

It's a nice script. I believe there were playing card brushes at one point for Gimp. I think there was all the suits and they were more realistic looking... 3d like.

Thank you racer-x for trying it out and bringing up joker.
Thank you mackenzie for the comment.

Joker cards available in version 2. Joker cards have no suit(s) but suit is now used to determine joker color (red/black).

ofnuts, this deck of card is the cheap version that only allows a regular image.
If you want diagonal symmetry, you'll have to go to Las Vegas hehehehe
What do you think? should I add an optional step to home brew the active layer before copying it over? I am not sure what a good logic for that would be.

Well version 4 is up and allows you finalize (optionally) which merges, resizes and drops shadow.
version 4 produces finished result that looks like below:

Version 5 allows "CUSTOM" card with custom text to be used.

Making a symmetry isn't difficult. You just create the upper half of the image (with some margin below the median), duplicate the layer, rotate it by 180°, and cut off the upper half along a diagonal that goes through the center (the only variation being the angle of the diagonal, this can be a script parameter).

No variation on angle...just a simple static diagonal blend (toggle).
version 6 of script.

In GIMP 2.8 the symmetry is perfect if you rotate a copy of it 180 and do difference there's no difference.
In GIMP 2.8 2.10 the symmetry is not perfect for some strange reason. If you do a 180 rotation of a copy and do difference you'll see there is difference around area where it tries to blend. I am not sure why that is.

Both in Gimp 2.8?

Not for me. Left to right: initial, rotated 180°, difference. You can check that the middle of the difference is exactly 0,0,0.

Well I don't know what the difference is in my script that produces different results in 2.8 from 2.10

UPDATE:
Here's proof of what I found.
Take an original like this one:
Image
Duplicate layer, rotate top layer by 180, Add layer mask.
Blend layer mask from top to bottom (I even entered exact values in GIMP 2.10 into start point and end point dialog box in order to get it exactly from top to bottom).
Image
See how the bottom is now different (lighter) than the top....that's the difference between 2.10 and 2.8.

At the end of the day, one end of the mask has to be solid black and the other solid white. Various ways to get the blend in the middle.

Custom with a couple of adjustable stops added is one way.

That is the problem, only needs to from top to little below half way
