Someone has updated Whitebalance script for 2.10?

I upgrade from 2.8.22 to 2.10.4. Apart from several problems due to different versions of the same DLL required by some plugin, I noticed that the script Whitebalance.scm by Luca de Alfaro stopped working ("Error while executing script-fu-whitebalance: Error: eval: unbound variable: RED-LUT")

The last update on the developer page was on 2009, with the version for GIMP 2.6 (that work also in 2.8) http://luca.dealfaro.org/photography/Whitebalance so I imagine that the development of the script is stopped.

Someone has updated it to work for 2.10?

the definition of the colors have been changed, from xxx-LUT to HISTOGRAM-xxx.
Hence you have to change lines 139-141 to say:

Code: Select all

    (gimp-curves-explicit drawable HISTOGRAM-RED   num_bytes red-curve  )
    (gimp-curves-explicit drawable HISTOGRAM-GREEN num_bytes green-curve)
    (gimp-curves-explicit drawable HISTOGRAM-BLUE  num_bytes blue-curve )

If you feel uncomfortable in doing this yourself, here the updated version

This script is possibly less useful in 2.10 (or can at least be greatly simplified) since a good deal of it is concerned about working in linear space, when this is a given in Gimp 2.10 (in additions these corrections are best done in a high-precision image).

Sometimes I try to do the white balance correction through the curves, but with this script things were faster when I do not need much precision.

I will keep in mind the new definition of the colors xxx-LUT --> HISTOGRAM-xxx if I were having similar problems with other scripts.

Even if this function -as Ofnuts pointed out- is less useful in Gimp 2.10, I updated also my personal filter.
