This update also adds two distortion packs to the Custom Font Tools sub-menu - basically batch moding some of the new distortion effect plug-ins, available in 2.10, for Custom Fonts. The custom font filters cannot provide exactly the same functionality as those available from Gimp's own filter menu due to the format of the pdb plug-ins - but they do save a lot of time when applying them to individual layers.

The following examples show the base character used and examples from Distortion Pack 2 (the filter parameters are shown in the legends):

Two more sets of Gimp plug-ins to use more easily with custom fonts - an artistic pack and a noise pack.
I thought the noise pack could be useful for adding a little texture to characters - in small amounts.

Another example using the various custom font filters.

Using the cubism filter with smallish tiles from the background layer shown here - duplicated with vivid mode set - then shine applied to produce this translucent style:


And the same process but with a 10 pixel black outline added - much less translucent - apart from the gaps.
