This simple plugin was supposed to be part of:

Due to some users' problems related to using it - that project was terminated until a solution was found (now I suspect that Windows 10 in some settings blocks the script-fu background call - but the reasons may be different).
There is a piece of code left, so I'm sharing it with You.

Basic assumptions:

- in menu GIMP: Filters/Decor/Create border step by step...
- based on the set colors FG and BG,
- repeating to add another frame (so a free margin should be used at the end),
- the frame is created using paths that can be used to obtain additional effects,
- additional effects attached:
CUBISM, EMBOSS, GIMPRESSIONIST, MOSAIC, PIXELIZE, RIPPLE, SPREAD, VIDEO
they work interactively (calling the plug with a preview of changing selected parameters),
- since version 2.10 some of the plugins used have been replaced by GEGL which until now can not be done from the level of the plugin,
- the missing plugins attached come from GIMP 2.8.22 and work well in GIMP 2.10 - but I only have a 32 bit version

MareroQ, did you want the 64 bit plug-ins? My computer is 64 bit Windows 10. I still have Gimp 2.8.22 64 bit if you need something from it?

Edit: I installed the Step by Step program and the "Missing ones" in the same plug in folder. However when I go to use the Step by Step, it cannot find those files and I get errors. Am I to install the missing files in another place? Please advise. Sorry to be such a problem.

If You can, I have a request for a small test:
- copy mosaic.exe from Gimp 2.8 64bit to 2.10 64bit (yes -the Preferences / plug-ins folder is the right choice),
- start Gimp 2.10 and plugin create border for Additional effect: MOSAIC.
- start create border for Additional effect: GIMPRESSIONIST
The question is - does it work?

If not, it only confirms my hypothesis that it is Windows10 (in the settings) that blocks the execution (of the program by another program ).
If so - then I am asking for a plugin package with Gimp 2.8 Win 64bit (for anyone interested in using the plugin for Gimp 2.10 64bit ):

MareroQ, thank you for answering me. I took the Gimp 2.8 64 bit plugins and tried them in your Step by Step program and all worked well except Ripple. I know you did not asked for it but I checked all of them and nothing happened with Ripple. I placed a 2.8 Ripple 64 bit in there With the others, the other files were called and worked. Ripple was called, but did not work properly. UPdate: For some reason, Ripple is now working with the 2.8 plug-in. Do not know what is different. I think all are now working! I have included Ripple (and Emboss just in case you needed it).

Let me know if you need any more files from Gimp 2.8.22. Thank you again for all your work. You are probably tired of working on this by now!

and Ripple which also works! It did not seem to work for me when I first put in the 64 bit plug in, but afterwards I have tried several times and appears to work. I understand that you only get the effect on the sides when horizontal is chosen.
