Extremely happy I am since samj compiled this plugin for Windows. This plugin is one of the few reasons I occasionally run Linux GIMP (via Virtualbox VM). It's also written in a language that requires it's own compiler (I actually compiled it for Linux; took a few hours at that time, but got it to work a year or so ago) so I know and respect the challenge for Windows that's for sure. Praise to Sam for doing this one for me. :)

It runs great in Ubuntu, for being a few years out of date. I did have to update the deprecated commands, but it wasn't too hard to do.

Works fine for me with GIMP 2.6.11 on Windows-xp, sp3 32bit.

Norton AV didn't like the program when GIMP initialized, but Norton complains about many of the GIMP plug-ins.

p.s. It uses your current brush settings for drawing the maze, so you may need to adjust those.

Might have something to do with the way this plugin has to be compiled Rod; not sure. Definitely time for you to sleuth this one out (don't use portable myself so this one's your challenge; good luck). :)

Def was the portable version Lyle probably the compile.
The thing is though i can get Gimp Sharp.GMIC, and other
outside plug-ins to work so i know not all will fail me.
Worked fine in standard Gimp-2.6.11 when i loaded it. :)

weird...

try to change place to the plugin, as example if you have in a gimp folder move out, put in a new empty folder and link from preferences/folder/plugin the new folder

Or if was already in a separate folder try to move in your user folder,...if was there try the plugin folder in program files

usually should not make any difference but rarely it does

I would say its worth having a re-compile of version .8, there are a ton of new features and shapes.

Theta is cool, too.

Yeah; the online version doesn't work (gave me errors) Mahvin. Just don't think I can convince samj to do this again and am greatful that he did it the first time. For the curious, the online version is below. :)

edit: just tried the online version again with this preset and it works. Happy I am. :)

Hey Mahvin. I just checked the website and he addressed your bug report and updated to version 0.8.1. You might already have seen this, but just wanted to pass this on just in case you haven't. :)

I'm actually thinking about starting my VM a fresh and anew and hosing my current one. 11.04, as Rod shared, has just been released. Debating on whether or not to try 64-bit again. Then to try to re-compile this plugin again in Ubuntu (the pain; the pain; lol). Might wait a week or two. lol

:)

Actually, after downloading scons, its pretty easy to compile, Lyle (I'm NOT just saying that to be bragging like). I have to use "sudo scons install" and that's it. It compiles both the command line and plug-in versions. Then all you have to do is drop them into the plug-ins folder.

You know asking Partha wouldn't hurt.He is already set up for Plug-in compiles.
Actually i think anyone with his new compile is.I believe i saw all kinds of header
and lib files fly by on install. It was kinda fast though .... :lol :)
He may just oblige you.

Easy for you Mahvin; I don't compile things that often and, as I called, it took well over an hour for me to figure out how to install this plugin at that time and don't look forward to re-figuring out the process (after reading all that I needed too; it was easy in the end as I recall, but the steps leading to the compile took a lot of footwork on my part since I'm no coder). I'm aware of the sudo process (have to do this everytime I update Virtualbox; lol) and the steps that I saw outlined for compiling this plugin had that as I recall (was over a year ago; my first and to date only plugin I ever compiled for GIMP; lol).

To Rod, as Mahvin pointed out, you need some additional libraries and such to compile this plugin (scons). Thought you needed Cairon too or whatever, but according the the website, only scons is needed. Not sure this toy filter (though it gives me joy) is worth the hastle for Partha to include in future updates though. :)
