I guess I have to enter this "duplicated" post here, because the original (under the "Hello" topic of Karl) did not receive much attention.
Very likely not many gimp-chatters expect to find scripts under an Hello topic.
On the other hand, I think Karl's scripts deserve at least to be tried/experimented.

Just in case someone likes to test/evaluate Karl's scripts, I collected (from Deviant Art) some (or all? I don't know) of his scripts, tested and "brutally" (sorry, Karl) modified to run under gimp 2.8

here the pack

(once installed, ALL scripts go now under "Script-Fu/kward1979uk" to be easily found)

Much better to start a thread to be easily seen, Dinasset. I love your idea as Karl's scripts are certainly worth being tested. I did it now that you have compiled altogether in my version of Gimp. I like them and I find them useful. :tyspin again. :)

dinasset: have you posted your 3.8 versions of these scripts before, or was that someone else who had done the same thing? i've had at least two scripts by kward in my 2.8 gimp, and i thought i had got them from gimp chat.
wallace: where do you get all those smilies from?

no, AnMal, I searched thru DeviantArt to find all KW scripts there, tried one at a time and changed wherever needed (very brutally, as said) to have them running on my PC.
Maybe you have better versions in your PC for those 2 or more, but there are now more than 10 in the folder...
Maybe you can experiment with those you do not have yet

why don't you use "addonCollectionManager"?
you may have bulk of Gimp resources and decide to activate/deactivate only a few at a time; very useful
(not valid for plug-ins but absolutely yes for scripts -as those- as well as for many other resources: brushes, gradients, patterns, etc)

That sounds like a good idea. Where do you get the add on manager?

this is a résumé for addonCollectionManager:

a) in your /.gimp-2.8/plug-ins folder check you have: (after unzipping the attachment)
a1)addonCollectionManager-3.0.py
a2)addonCollectionManager.ini

b) in your /.gimp-2.8 folder check you have:
b1)brushes (initially empty) and brushes_storage (with your groups of brushes)
b2)fonts (initially empty) and fonts_storage (with your groups of fonts)
b3)gradients (initially empty) and gradients_storage (with your groups of gradients)
b4)palettes (initially empty) and palettes_storage (with your groups of palettes)
b5)patterns (initially empty) and patterns_storage (with your groups of patterns)
b6)scripts (initially empty) and scripts_storage (with your groups of scripts)

after Gimp start-up, you should find under Help:
- brushes sets...
- fonts sets...
- gradients sets...
- palettes sets...
- patterns sets...
- scripts sets...

any one of those activates the relevant "manager", to make your selection(s)

hope this can be of some help for you

Great reminder Dinasset...
I have been using add on manager for two or three years now and I think it is great. I use it for brushes and fonts. Saves loading all your brushes, you can just select the ones you want.

Thank you, Dinasset! The plug in folders you are referring to are the user folders, not the program folders, correct?

I did now.
The majority of them is working without changes, for one I did apply some updates (attached), one did not work (Fire) because requires another script I do not have at the moment.
But, for any future request like this one, IMHO it could be more comfortable for the GC.ers if YOU DO the tests yourself (you are the person interested, aren't you?) and ask other people for double-checking only those which do not run in your system.

Stroked text does not work, fixed line 47 (Error: eval: unbound variable: NORMAL) and a typo it's had for 12 years.
Not really interested in these, quite outdated and there are better alternatives, like the glass scripts:
Glass text by GnuTux (updated by Fluffy Bunny) and glass selection by Mosteller that has been also fixed for 2.10 by Paul Sherman.

And I agree with dinasset, test first yourself and report afterwards if you have problems. Makes it easier for the all of us.

Interesting but they don't all seem to work on Chrome Windows 10
