From time to time I play with some old good script I have in my portfolio.
Today I show the effect of a script by Bui The Thang: Fake HDR.
(I know there are a lot of "Fake HDR" of the past, this is one I found interesting)
Rewritten in python and slightly modified my way.

The "revived" filter:

A second one, strictly derived from the excellent "script-fu-sg-technicolor-3" by Saul Goode.

Here the filter (ported to python plus minor changes my way)

I'm not sure how I should address you, Diego or dinasset, but I wanted you to know that I am very grateful that you are again publishing your work in a forum instead of privately.

It has to be dismaying for a creator when many downloads of one's generous work are followed by comments from a relatively few users. I am guilty of perpetuating that situation myself. Even behind an internet pseudonym I am most often still a student sitting in the back of the class, trying to take in everything from people around me whom I know must know so much more than I do. After decades I have probably taken shyness to new heights, but I wouldn't want anyone else to know.

Your traditional media emulations for photos make the GIMP program itself both powerful and attractive to users. Even your "throw-aways", the "simple" ancilliary scripts and G'MIC-based re-settings and adaptations, are very valuable tools for people like myself who still want to learn how to do those things ourselves. One of your own scripts that you may find inadequate to your own expectations would be a stand-out, once-in-a-lifetime accomplishment for many.

So, if I am most often quiet at your banquets, I hope you may understand it's simple ill-manners and not lack of genuine gratitude.

Thanks neurolurker for your nice words, they are a real gratification for my contributions to Gimp.

I too thank enormously dinasset for its plugins and advice (and also all the helpers of GC), because the use of Gimp is one of the means that help me in my end of life. :)

Thanks for the Ray Studio revival. I remember using it with 2.6 and 2.8.

Yes, two interesting additions. :bigthup
Dinasset, how is it the possibility to set the values for X and Y? It doesn't let me set the ones I wanted to.
