I have seen similar posts elsewhere, so giving gmic a try in Windows 10 / Gimp 2.10.8
With Gimp 2.10 gmic_gimp correctly installs in its own folder
C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins\gmic_gimp_qtThe way Gimp 2.10 works is; If the folder and the plugin have the same name then Gimp will find the plugin. So those underscores are necessary. No need to add paths...etc..
A short video of the installation:
https://youtu.be/fTlqYbY-oIA 2 minutes See if you can spot any differences with your setup.
Biggest hurdle, getting rid of all those existing gmic files you now have scattered about

Well the .exe version of gmic makes gmic show up in gimp but gmic is Greyed out.)
It is greyed out if there is no image open.
