After a long "incubation period", I'm ready to release my package for approximating a Roman style Mosaic with a glassy tiles look more than a stone tiles look.
It is composed by:
- 2 filters: the main operative filter which performs the transformation of a photo into a fake Roman mosaic and a front-end filter to select a preset on the base of the image type
- 11 presets (text files)
- 1 glass effects patterns set
- Rob Antonischen's script "chisel.scm" used inside the filter
- 1 tutorial
I want to thank warmly:
- Lyle, for his work on "inventing" how to use Gimp and G'mic for creating a Roman style mosaic effect (it's quite a lot of time that I created a Mosaic Lyle's Style filter....)
- Issabella (my precious friend), for the long and continuos support during all the phases of the project

Note: this thread is for comments and critics (all very welcome) to the filters and resources.
For trial outcomes (also very welcome), use the corresponding thread in Gimp Art.

Info:
in case you want to reduce the overload of your Gimp in a critical environment you may download only:
- the Main filter (OpusVermiculatumVitreum)
- RobA chisel.scm if not already in your system
When running the Main filter, for the parameter Glass Pattern choose option 0 (none)
