Lyle posted this link viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1847 about gluas, but upon visiting the Japanese geocities link found there, I came across a few logos and patterns not in my inventory.

The script parameters were in Japanese so I had to use Google to translate and update them. I'm providing the updated versions here. No other changes were made to the scripts, by me. If you decide to download them from the geocities site instead, you'll need to amend them or they will show up in Japanese in your menus.

Old Stone, aged at 7 (I had actually tried to repair a broken 2.2 version of this, but never finished it):

Zahnpasta! Pretty cool, and the first time I have seen this:

Reflex, also very cool (new and improved, thanks to bkh1914):

Patterns:

Denim, (I had been using Fencepost's tutorial to make this):

The reflex script doesn't work for me. It comes out with flat images.

I can go to the tutorial I put up about it and do it the long way but sure wish the script would work for me.

Definitely cool Mahvin; did add some additional pizazz. Not sure why you are not getting the result desired O. :)

I've done everything I can think of to see if there's something wrong. I've closed and opened gimp, even booted and cleared my cache. Deleted the script and downloaded it again. Still no joy.

Here are the layers from both the script and the tutorial.

OK, this made it work for me. I was not opening a new image window before using the script. I opened a new image window then went to the script and it worked. Now it works without opening a new image window. Guess it kicked something in GIMP while it was at it. Sometimes you just gotta kick something, I guess.

Computers! :hoh

O, make sure your font color is dark (black works best).

In other words, make sure your foreground color is set to black. Then run it.

Thank you for the scripts mahvin.
I used the reflex one and I couldn't get it to change colors (gradients) I also couldn't get it to change fonts. Tried everything, then I rebooted my pc, and now they all work. :jumpclap

Computers! :tantrum :2gun :pound :cuss

Ah! Did a test, yeah. Perhaps that could be put into the script to set the FG color to black?

Not everyone using the script will know that.

I know, I had the same problem you did, and forgot to mention it in my first post. I'll take a look at the script to see what needs changing.

It actually sets the foreground for the alpha version to black, and it appears to do the same for the logo create. I've run it 20 times with my foreground and background set to white, and it's working for me now. Weirdness!

I watched the color selector dialog with white as the fg color while the script ran, and the color in there changed to a gray rather than black. I would expect it's using 152 152 152 for the color of the bump layer and likely on the bump layer.

It's likely it's using the fg color that's in place which is making the image come out flat. If it's a little darker, the image is less flat but still not up to the standards of a black fg color.

Have you tried both the File - Create and Alpha to Logo watching the FG color?

I'll look at this again, I am obviously missing something.

I didn't realize it was in Alpha to Logo. Here's a screenshot of the dialog and there is no font selection in it. However, there was a change from the light color that was in the colors dialog that changed to black, then to gray then back to the original color. All that was in the image that was created was the gradient background. The rest were empty transparent layers.

Why is the script in both places? Would it be better to simply put it somewhere in Filters?

Right, in Alpha to Logo, you select the font/color before running the script. I actually prefer it over File-Create because the shift option does absolutely nothing that I can tell.

It's an older script, reworked. It was attributed to the Toolbox menu. I think the author was following the standard of having two options, as most other Logos do.
