Both Issabella and myself have finished our tests.
So, here is the filter:

The filter has the option of creating on top of the standard outcome a layer with a layer mask, which the users can play with to smooth result at their own taste.
Issabella is preparing a mini tutorial about this feature.
edit: tutorial posted under "Experimenting..."
Anyhow, except for "delicate" subjects like portraits, standard outcomes are pleasant.

Below some samples.
