Experimenting makes this more fun
Dinasset mentioned gmic anguish so i tried it on the same image from before
made an anguish layer (100% opacity) , then made it 75 %
Interesting results ..
i think this might be a better way to add / adjust dark then using
light/dark/contrast since it is directly related to the image details.

The gmic anguish turned your image from day to night in post # 69 ( and 68/70 too)
That is really kool effect . images at night are difficult so this is a great tool

The important thing on many effects and settings ( i think )
--is knowing how much to use, when to turn it up or down, change opacity, etc.
thats where all the trial and error comes in.
I need to keep better notes so that i can remember what these setting all do :)
