I Have some how messed up my GIMP 2.8.22. I has GMIC working fine for Brian's plug ins ect. Today GMIC dies not work. I did some work in the preferences and added a them. i did remove. I backed up my GIMP 2.8 folder, did a re install and put in my GMIC 1,79 64 bit and I get an error at start up and it does not work. ANy one have ideas?

Where did you put the GMIC? It is a plugin so has to go in the plugins folder. If memory serves you may have to put the path in the plugins folder to your GMIC in 2.8 as well (In preferences) So if you have changed that could be why it isn't working.

If you keep having trouble with it from within gimp you can still use it as a standalone program

weren't there a bunch of dll files to go with GMIC?
