This update adds a tabbed dialog (thanks to MareroQ and Arakne for gimpui3) to the plug-in making it easier to use with smaller display sizes.



This is my preferred method of creating custom font character layers from normal free-to-use fonts in Gimp for further manipulation.

Download and install it to your user plug-ins folder.

Menu location:

Filters>>Custom Font Tools>>Custom Font Layers With Forced Margins v0.04 Tabbed...

The existing options have been divided between two tabs:

I have also taken the opportunity to add Dutch and Portuguese accented characters from the menu option.



A full set of characters (if the font used provides the characters of course) now can have 189 layers (if you include the space layer)!

The example below shows just the accented characters for all languages:
