I got this idea after seeing Photoshops actions for "Glow in the Dark" I don't have photoshop and not willing to pay for Photoshop actions that I can't use so I thought of creating this one for people who'd like to achieve similar effect. I don't even know what the steps are to create "Glow in the Dark".

But for this "Glow Stick Effect" I used my own steps for creating the effect (including using Split-toning Plug-in which this plug-in requires to run).

More details & download plug-in here --> https://gimplearn.net/viewtopic.php?p=26009#p26009

:hehe I don't know how to add glow in a single menu entry, maybe with shadow and ligter green color it could work.
But I changed the name to Gamma Glow, green color and added radioactive unicode symbol behind.
Will test later with better image, it maybe works better with normal images than cartoon clipart.
Thanks for plug-in Tim!

Very nifty looking program, Tin. I will be late for this party as my main computer is not working and it is going to the "GEEK SQUAD". Meantime, I am trying to get my old, old laptop set up to use but setting up plug-ins is slow as it is a 32 bit and my newer one is A 64. I will try to post something as soon as I can.

I like the radioactive notions mentioned above. Picture is a real church alter by candlelight by a cellphone.

That's very nice neurolurker. I was playing with G'mic and created a preset to boost the glow.

Degradations: Blur Bloom

Amplitude 5
Ratio 2
Iterations 4
Operator: Add
Kernel: Box
Normalize Scales: Off
Channel(s): HSI [Intensity]

Pat, thank you. Hope you get back to familiar ground soon.

Nidhogg, thanks for the preset. It looks really good on Mr. Bones with his details. Unfortunately for me, the original alter picture has very little detail but plenty of horrendous color. It was, as my wife charitably described many of my photographic efforts, "soft focus." Without Tim's script, no one would have looked at it twice.

I know how to port this filter to GEGL. But I need approval. If I get atlest two people to show interest I will do it.

The operation is desaturate, invert, color overlay, and soft glow and maybe brightness.

I hit a huge roadblock when porting this to GEGL. The blend modes gegl has aren't as good as Gimps. If i figure out how to solve it I will make a GEGL glowstick adjustment filter.
