Here's an old script I wrote and completely forgot about. Might as well dump my computer before I completely lose my knowledge of GIMP. :) And since it's Oregonian's birthday, I'll dedicate this to her! The default settings will make guts like this:

Image

If you uncheck the veins option, you'll get flowing lava, like so:

Image

And, if you have the Kaleidoscope plugin, you can create, gut-o-scopes! (make sure you use 0.500 in angle 2 of the plugin to get rid of a bad line on the right side of the image):

Image

Open up a blank image, go to: Filters/Animation/Animators/Flowing Lava and Guts..."
and choose the desired options. Enjoy!

Updated Source Code here.

Thanks, Fencepost! Me and Graechan have similar versions of this script, ours just doesn't have the plasticized look to the lava and involves alien mapping.

I was looking for this (your version) a couple of weeks ago. I swore I saw it "somewhere" but I never found it. Perhaps my brainwaves are on a serious delay, but thanks for sharing it.

I compressed this into a zip for those wanting it faster (this is the FIXED version):

No problem! Glad to share. I believe I may have posted an animation somewhere, way back when, but I don't know if I ever posted the script. Enjoy it!

Thanks for "zippifying" it, mahvin!

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but the colors won't change and the veins don't come out red.

I changed both colors, and it still comes out all green. Wanted to make it pink and chocolate. :hehe

OK, I recopied the code and reinstalled it. Closed gimp and reopened. Used pink and brown for colors. Still all green.

I got mahvin's zipped one, deleted the one I put in and put in mahvin's. Closed and reopened gimp. Changed colors to pink and brown. Still all green.

:gaah :hoh

Hmmm....not sure what the trouble could be. I didn't send you this script before (along time ago), did I? Wondering if you've got two scripts with the same function name and they're conflicting with one another.

I've been away from GIMP'ing for quite awhile. What's the most recent version? And have there been any scripting changes? I'm running 2.6.6 on two different machines and I'm getting the results O wanted.

Aww, thanks, molly!

Well, I wonder what could be creating this issue? Maybe it's the loose screw next to my keyboard. :)

You don't know how relieved I am. I thought it was something wrong with my computer. I even booted. Still all green.
