The filter:


It may use any set of patterns already released for 2021 original version, but in addition you may try to use any of the new sets just created specifically for this variant:
- first set

- second set

...

...other sets:

- third set


- fourth set


....

Other sets:

- fifth set


-sixth and last set


You may create and use sets defined and stored by yourself

User parameters:



- the size oif the outcome you like to get
- how many colour areas you like to work with (the filter uses a different pattern for each of the colours)
- the "distortion" you like to have in the fake painting produced (basic, soft, hard)
- the pattern set you like to use (fake strokes); the choice is made randomly by the filter inside the set
- the visibility you like for the fake strokes (basic, soft, hard)
- whether you prefer to get the outcome as a flatten image or with the layers detail used
- how much of the original source image you like to see on top (the most common layer to manipulate)
- the visibility of the canvas (none, soft, hard)

Use this thread for any critics, or suggestion related to the filter.
Don't use it for posting your outcomes, just in case you like to show some result of your tests; better to use the related thread in Gimp Art.

Are you still planning to publish on gimpscripts.net also the original version 2021 (or set a link to GC)?
Otherwise the tutorial can be IMO misleading for the user, the 2022 variant is not directly connected.

I am Using Portableapps GIMP Version 2.10.32 on Windows 10

When I run the FreePainting and FreePainting2022A Plugins. GIMP gives these Errors
I Have the Presets on the Desktop in the MyFPSpresets Folder.

I am Not sure What is Wrong
