This is a Live Preview overlay of the path-waves-0.2 plugin by Ofnuts (plugin must be installed - is in the attachment).
Renders a wave along the BOTTOM path.
In menu: Filters ➤ Path ➤ Path Waves LP...

Very nice Marek :coolthup
If I may, it keeps the previous preview, for example I did preview "Sine" then "Ellipse", then for the "Circle" (which I Ok)
in the path dialog they were all there as well during the preview (Ellipse and circle at the same time during preview) ;)

Hi PixLab
Thank you for trying and commenting.
I deliberately changed the behavior so that one preview (newer) does not automatically replace the other (older), leaving the decision to delete a song to the user (a Delete button was added).
This possibility allows for further different path combinations.
Without closing the plugin, you can also "manually" (when Preview = No):
- change the visibility of paths,
- drag any path to the bottom path.
Add an option to make only the last result visible (the rest will remain - but invisible)?

Question for Ofnuts:
It's probably impossible, but I would like a slightly different result in the case of corners?

If you want something clean in the coners, you probably have to split the stroke into sub-strokes so that path-waves puts an integer number of waves on the sub-stroke (and of course splices the results together). But then maybe you would prefer integer-and-half(have to change the script for this) and have more control on what side of the stroke the script starts on each sub-strokes (change the phase by 180°).

@Ofnuts
Thank you for the quick explanation.
I won't even try to change anything in your code (it's difficult, but there should only be an official version of path-waves).

@PixLab.
A trial version of Rel.1.1 with a visibility switch is available here:

It works like a charm, I also like to have all the previous previewed paths saved if later I change my mind, that's brilliant :clap
Thank you so very much Marek :tyspin

Just to let you know, I just sent (now) a script (scm) on your gimpscripts.net if you're interested, the topic for reference on GC is over-there > viewtopic.php?f=9&t=20667#p286067
