I've been thinking about the role of baseball caps as a messaging medium.
I found Rod's updated text embroider script.
It didn't work so well with baseball caps so I made some mods and called it V2.1.
It's a wonder Rod didn't use it on baseball caps 'cause he always wears one :)

Warning. Don't seek medical advice from a baseball cap.

tech stuff.
The embroidery is done by line 34 in the script using Gimp ripple. This varies with the size of the text being embroided. It's way down the end of the ripple scale so changing the [2] parameter gives you more or less ripple.

I used these settings when running the script.
bevel - 4
shadow X - 0
shadow Y - 3 or 4
horizontal, horizontal

I make the text on a new transparent image. Then use Curve Bend to give it an arch shape (press 'copy' to do the lower part) After running the script I add Colors > Brightness - Contrast to the text layer before merging-down to the drop shadow layers. Then 'copy as new layer' over a baseball cap.
